Banana Game FAQ

Quick answers for gameplay, controls, rankings, browser data, audio, and device performance.

Gameplay

Why did two fruit not merge?

They must be the same type and their collision shapes must touch directly. A visible gap, another fruit between them, or a brief physics separation prevents a merge. Special recipes also require the full connected group, such as six touching strawberries.

Which fruit can fall from the top?

The current build randomly selects blueberry, strawberry, kiwi, or grape. Larger fruit must be created by merging.

How do I make a Banana or Golden Banana?

Two watermelons, six connected strawberries, or four connected apples create a banana. Three connected bananas create a Golden Banana. Two Golden Bananas disappear and award 2,000 points.

Why did my strawberries become a kiwi before I had six?

Automatic pair merging still applies. All six strawberries must form one connected group during the same contact check for the special recipe to win. Two touching strawberries merge first if the rest have not arrived. See the recipe timing explanation; there is no control that pauses an individual pair.

When exactly does game over happen?

The red line is the deadline. When a settled fruit remains above it, a three-second warning begins. Moving or merging the fruit below the line cancels the danger; otherwise the run ends after the warning.

What does the banana button do?

It shakes the fruit pile with two short pulses. Each use costs one token. A run starts with five tokens, and merge rewards refill the token meter.

Accounts, saves, and rankings

Do I need an account to play in the browser?

No. The browser game can be played as a guest. Your selected name, country, settings, and local progress may be stored in your browser.

Does the browser submit my score online?

No. The current web build can read and display the online leaderboards, but it does not submit browser gameplay scores. Native Android and Windows ranking submission is handled separately.

Why did my browser save disappear?

Browser data can be removed by clearing site data, using private browsing, changing browsers, or device cleanup. Treat browser progress as local data rather than a permanent cloud backup.

Can two guest players use the same ranking name?

Native guest ranking registration checks name availability. Platform-linked account names can follow the platform's own identity rules. The browser build remains read-only for online scores.

Devices and settings

Which controls are supported?

Touch, mouse, keyboard, and standard gamepads are supported. See the control table for the current key and button map.

Why is there no sound after opening the web game?

Browsers can block audio until the page receives a deliberate tap, click, or key press. Interact with the game once, then check the master, music, and sound-effect settings as well as the browser tab volume.

What should I change if performance drops?

Close heavy background tabs, select a lower quality level or frame-rate cap in Settings, and avoid browser zoom. On mobile, portrait orientation and an up-to-date browser give the most predictable layout.

Which languages are included?

The game currently offers English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, Filipino, Indonesian, Vietnamese, German, French, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish. Website articles are available in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese, and Filipino. Website and game language settings are separate.

Report a problem

Banana Game is available for Windows on Steam and Android on Google Play. The browser edition runs separately at /play. Store purchases, app updates and browser saves are separate; signing in does not automatically move a run between platforms.
